Vtg Fireman stein Washington Hook and Ladder Co No1 100th anniversary 1986 Mahanoy City Pennsylvamia

This is a terrific vintage fireman stein which celebrates the 100th anniversary (1886-1986) of the Washington Hook & Ladder Co., No.1 from Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania. It was made in 1986 by Shawnee Advertising and Ilka Ceramics. It is the head of an old fashioned fireman with handlebar mustache done in high relief, and he is holding a fireman's hook, which makes up the handle. It is a bright sky blue color with gilt trim and red, white and black printing. The stein is printed with the image of a 1973 American LaFrance 100 Foot Ladder Chief, a 1973 GMC Equipment Carrier, and then on the back it has, "100th Anniversary Washington Hook & Ladder Co. No.1, 1886-1986, Mahanoy City, PA, Celebration, May 31-June 7, 1986". At the bottom are printed the letters WH&L on both sides. It is 6-1/2" tall, the top opening is 3" in diameter, the body width is 4-3/4" and with the handle, it is 6-1/2". It is pre-owned and in great shape. It is a heavy, substantial stein.
